Eating food with nutrients can help improve your body and protect your health

Nutrients explained

  • Nutrients in fresh, whole foods can help the body survive in today’s world
  • They give the body the strength and energy to repair and restore every day
  • Fresh food with the important nutrients is better for your body, mind and soul
  • Without nutrients, the body runs out of energy over time, and could become unwell. It is like a car running low on fuel, oil and water. It becomes overdue for a service and eventually breaks down.

“Prevention is the best cure” = eat fresh food and maintain a healthy gut

Processed foods

Processed food are made in factories and food industries.

Examples:

  • Lollies
  • Soft drinks
  • Chips
  • Juices
  • Fried foods
  • Milk drinks (eg. Big M, iced coffee)
  • Frozen dishes
  • Ready-made meals
  • Processed/cured meats ie. salami
  • Take away / fast / delivered foods

They come with various additives:

  • Sugar
  • Salt
  • Poor fats
  • Poor carbs
  • Preservatives
  • Artificial flavours

They stay ‘edible’ for a long period of time before decaying.

They are processed in factories, stored into packages, and are transported usually for long distances.

They are not whole foods, therefore have limited or no nutrients. If eaten regularly, the body may suffer poor health.

Poor health = health issues

  • Weight
  • Cancer
  • Diabetes
  • Depression
  • Cholesterol
  • High Blood pressure
  • Fatigue
  • Arthritis
  • Skin issues
  • Food Intolerances and allergies
  • Asthma
  • Acid refluxes
